ARC Hounslow supports people over the age of 18, residing in the borough of Hounslow, who want to break a cycle of addiction to substances or long-term alcohol addiction. We offer a variety of psychosocial and clinical interventions to support clients throughout their treatment journey. This role will hold a caseload of individuals and specifically provide support to individuals through offering 1-1 and group work interventions.
Responsibilities
* Use specialist knowledge and skills in substance misuse to undertake assessment, care planning, implementing and evaluating the case and treatment of clients.
* Perform duty assessments for clients new to the service and act as keyworker to a defined allocated caseload under the supervision of a designated manager.
* Ensure delivery of care and management of this client group complies with expected standards and adheres to policies and procedures.
* Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., harm reduction approaches, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning, health education, detoxification programmes, mindfulness, counselling and group work) in 1-1 and group settings.
* Make continuous assessments of psychological, emotional, social and rehabilitative needs; develop care plans and evaluate them.
* Assess and case manage clients who inject drugs, including assessment of injection sites and applying harm reduction principles; lead duty assessments for new clients.
* Ensure use of Outcome Monitoring Tools and other relevant quality measures to support contracted service delivery.
* Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to promote best practice, share knowledge, and ensure services meet required standards; lead on an area of specialism where appropriate.
* Manage transfer of individuals between agencies/services; promote full risk assessments and risk management under supervision.
* Ensure understanding, compliance with and implementation of clinical governance.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing specialist services to service users with substance use issues (including alcohol). Deliver evidence-based interventions such as harm reduction, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, care planning, health education and detoxification programmes, mindfulness, counselling and group work. Conduct assessments of needs, develop and evaluate care plans, and manage caseloads with consideration of family and community needs.
Key duties include ensuring compliance with monitoring tools and quality measures, collaborating with colleagues to ensure best practice, managing transitions between services, and maintaining risk assessments and governance standards.

Essential criteria
* Completed Recovery Practitioner training
* Evidence of further training in relation to personal recovery principles
* Commitment to obtain underpinning knowledge through work-based learning and mandatory training
Desirable criteria

* Any specific training related to young people
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with alcohol/substance users or another comparable field
* Understanding of complex issues presented by individuals with varying complexity
* Experience working with health providers, probation, courts, police, youth services, mental health & addictions organisations
* Experience delivering groups as well as one-to-one interventions related to addictions
* Experience of working with individuals of all ages in a therapeutic/supportive role

* Experience undertaking evaluations, audits and research
