We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Plant Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands‑on role where you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and improving on‑site machinery and equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
You will play a key role in minimising downtime, supporting production, and contributing to continuous improvement across the site.
Daily Duties
* Maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing plant machinery and equipment
* Supporting Production, by ensuring machinery is fully operational
* Working to a planned maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns
* Maintaining maintenance stock levels
* Recording all maintenance activities on the maintenance management system
* Ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and in line with company HSE procedures
* Identifying and resolving production and site issues efficiently
* Supporting the design, development, and fabrication of new equipment and improvements (including welding to relevant standards where required)
* Assisting with engineering projects, including planning, costing, and liaising with contractors
* Proactively identify issues and implement effective, long‑term solutions
* Working collaboratively with other departments and supporting the wider engineering team
* Promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the site
* Carrying out any additional duties required to support business needs
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in plant maintenance or a similar engineering role
* Strong mechanical skills (electrical knowledge beneficial)
* Ability to fault‑find, problem‑solve, and work independently
* A proactive mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality work
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
* A focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent)
* Welding to BS 4872-1 (UK standard) (desirable)
* BFPA / NFPC hydraulics training (desirable)
