Join us as a Financial Services Commercial Manager and you’ll be a big part of this. Role Purpose: You will will lead and optimise B&Q’s financial services offering—including credit, insurance, gift cards, and payment solutions—driving commercial value while delivering great customer outcomes. You will manage key financial services partnerships, influence digital journey development, and ensure alignment with compliance and Consumer Duty standards Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy & Performance • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and profitability across our Financial Services propositions. • Own the commercial performance of financial services products and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including retail, marketing, commercial and finance to develop, execute and ensure the success of our Financial Services propositions. • Drive customer uptake, satisfaction, and profitability across online and in-store channels • Identify and implement innovative payment solutions to meet customer needs and improve their shopping experience. • Use insights and customer feedback to iterate and improve propositions Partner & Stakeholder Management • Manage relationships across multiple 3rd party Financial Services suppliers. • Monitor and optimise product pricing, partner terms, and revenue streams through our supplier eco-system • Support negotiations and contract reviews, ensuring terms reflect business values Insights, Reporting & Regulatory Governance • Monitor and analyse sales and financial data to make informed business decisions and adjust strategies as needed, providing regular updates to senior leadership. • Feed into Consumer Duty outcome testing and Board reporting packs • Support financial modelling, forecasting, and business case development for new products • Ensure all retail financial products meet FCA Consumer Duty, commission disclosure, and affordability standards Required Skills & Experience: • Experience in the financial services sector (ideally within a retail organisation) • Strong commercial experience, working with internal stakeholders to drive sales and operational excellence. • Understanding of the P&L of financial services propositions and how to balance cost and commercial benefit. • Experience managing suppliers on whom we’re dependent for core customer services. • Track record of building exceptional relationships and using these to support the businesses objectives. • Proven negotiation skills • Ability to take current and future credit propositions and communicate them simply, to audiences at all levels, from senior management to store colleagues, engaging through storytelling. • Excellent problem-solving skills – able to break down complex problems into core components, identifying key drivers of performance. • Has demonstrated a ‘customer-first’ attitude through process improvement and the development of financial services customer propositions.
