An inclusive workplace Excellent package: solid basic and company benefits Hybrid working & core hours in line with role requirements Career development and life-long learning opportunities Opportunity to join Europe's largest privately-owned IT Company Role purpose: The Tech Specialist Cloud is responsible for managing the daily operations of the UK Cloud Infrastructure team, providing hands-on leadership and mentoring to support engineer development. The role involves close collaboration with other technical leads from Tech Ops, Operations Managers, Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), and Technical Service Managers (TSMs) to ensure consistent delivery of BAU services. It also includes working with SDMs and Project Managers to deliver chargeable projects and reviewing environments before they transition into BAU support. The Technical Lead plays a key role in aligning team processes with best practices and supporting the organisation’s wider goals for operational excellence. Key responsibilities: Act as the primary technical escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents across datacentres and customer sites. Collaborate with enterprise architects and senior stakeholders to align infrastructure strategy with business objectives. Provide hands-on technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to infrastructure engineers. Manage team HR administration tasks, including annual leave coordination and performance support. Allocate resources effectively across BAU operations and project delivery. Ensure timely resolution of incidents and problems within agreed SLAs, including root cause analysis for recurring issues. Maintain high-quality technical documentation and ensure it remains current. Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement across the Infrastructure Team. Contribute to achieving technical and service goals defined by DCS management. Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and senior leadership. Participate in the out-of-hours technical lead escalation process as required. Skills and experience: Relevant experience in IT systems administration or engineering roles within large MSPs. Deep knowledge of Cloud and Virtualisation Environments Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012–2025) and associated technologies. Proficient in using service desk tools for incident, change, and problem management Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform effectively under pressure. Ability to manage conflict and lead technical teams through challenges. Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
