Our Water Quality & Environment Team have an opportunity for you to join as a Biodiversity Project Manager. This is a mainly home based role with a base at Severn Trent's Raynesway Offices in Derby. In your new role you will be responsible for supporting the project management and coordination aspect of our Biodiversity programme. You’ll also be accountable for developing and completing work plans, liaising with partners, ensuring that project goals and targets are met. As a Biodiversity Project Manager, you’ll have the ability to oversee timely project implementation, formulate budgets, use results‑based management/reporting, and undertake multiple tasks.
Key Accountabilities
* Confirm the objectives and planned benefits of the projects and support the development of the project delivery strategy while also developing financial/budget controls.
* Ensure risks are understood and mitigated successfully and regularly communicate with and manage stakeholders. Liaise and negotiate with internal or external partners as required.
* Coordinate and distribute responsibilities within the team and organise a monitoring tracking system of all components of the project. Facilitate the creation of processes and guidance to enhance the status of Biodiversity.
* Assess progress in relation to plan and monitor cost and budget performance, implementing appropriate control processes. Ensure Severn Trent Water is recognised as a high‑profile champion, steward and leader for the natural environment.
* Identify and report on the success of the enhancements and provide quantifiable evidence of a project’s success.
To be successful in this role, you ideally have an understanding of the water industry, the periodic review process, and an honours degree in Management, Geography, Environmental Science, Ecology or another related field. You also hold a full current UK driving licence.
