POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the qualification and continuous improvement of suppliers for our products. Responsibilities include managing supplier audits, driving quality improvements, ensuring compliance with standards such as ISO9001 and IATF 16949, leading crisis management for quality incidents, supporting reliability investigations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on testing and implementation. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree, QA audit experience in automotive, and strong knowledge of supplier quality management systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. Lead qualification of all new ADL suppliers within a specific region and ensure periodic re-certification; maintain an up-to-date Approved Supplier List (ASL).
2. Agree on required PPAP levels for new suppliers and complete initial PPAPs using the AD Workbook.
3. Experience with APQP is advantageous.
4. Develop and implement a supplier audit schedule aligned with NPD projects and Group Procurement cost reduction activities; conduct audits onsite.
5. Evaluate and improve supplier quality management systems to ensure consistent quality; update audit schedules as needed.
6. Develop and implement continuous supplier audit schedules supporting cost reduction goals.
7. Set and manage individual supplier quality improvement targets.
8. Lead crisis management for major supplier-related quality incidents, responding swiftly to escalations and implementing containment measures.
9. Collaborate with AD Reliability team on failure investigations, driving root cause analysis and preventive actions.
10. Prepare supplier quality and reliability performance data for meetings and follow up on actions.
11. Work with cross-functional teams and suppliers on alternative specifications, testing, and implementation to meet quality standards.
12. Lead all Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
13. Ensure prevention of repeat defects using 8D methodology.
14. Assess and improve supplier process capability.
15. Develop and publish supplier performance reports and metrics via QlikView.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Engineering, or related field.
* QA audit/engineering experience in automotive environment.
* Understanding of key quality standards such as ISO9001 and IATF 16949.
* Knowledge of supplier quality management tools: SPC, RCCA, PPAP, 8D, 5S, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Report writing skills.
