NHS Tayside is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking finance professional to join as Assistant Director of Finance. This senior leadership role is ideal for those with Director-level aspirations, providing a platform to work closely with the full Executive Team and Board and lead across the whole system to deliver financial transformation and sustainability.
You will play a central role in shaping and delivering reform aligned with national priorities, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support high-quality, sustainable services.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the post holder will lead on delivering financial improvement and efficiency within a complex system, with responsibility for efficiency plans and a programme of sustainability and value. The role requires a strategic and resilient leader, capable of operating with confidence and credibility in a politically complex environment, working collaboratively across the whole system to maximise efficiency, innovation, and outcomes.
NHS Tayside serves a population of 414,000 across Angus, Dundee, and Perth & Kinross, with over 14,000 staff and strong partnerships with Integration Joint Boards, local authorities, universities, and the third sector. As one of Scotland’s four teaching health boards, we offer a dynamic and complex environment in which to lead and innovate.
Applicants should have extensive specialist experience and expertise in financial management and long-term strategic financial planning, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
