An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join NHS Tayside as Assistant Director of Finance. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work in a fast paced, complex and rewarding environment as part of a progressive and forward-thinking finance team. As a senior finance leader, you will have responsibility for overall financial management, governance and control, and will take a lead role in the areas of financial sustainability, change and reform.
NHS Tayside covers the Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross localities, serving a population of 414,000, employing over 14,000 staff. We work collaboratively with our three Integration Joint Boards and other stakeholders: local authorities, universities, and third sector partners. One of the four teaching hospitals in Scotland, we provide a comprehensive range of services across primary care, community services and acute hospitals.
This is an exciting time to join NHS Tayside, as we respond to the Scottish Government ambitions set out within the NHS Scotland operational improvement plan, and the service renewal and population health frameworks. We will undergo a process of reform and renewal to design services that are safe, effective, high quality, and sustainable.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the post holder will lead on delivering financial improvement and efficiency within a complex system, with responsibility for efficiency plans and a programme of sustainability and value. The role requires a strategic and resilient leader, capable of operating with confidence and credibility in a politically complex environment, working collaboratively across the whole system to maximise efficiency, innovation and outcomes.
Applicants should have extensive specialist experience and expertise in financial management, long-term strategic financial planning and staff leadership roles, including managing change and uncertainty.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
