Role Purpose
The Senior HR Advisor's primary focus is to act as a subject matter expert in ER cases, supporting and coaching people managers to ensure fairness and consistency, as well as a culture of continuous improvement.
This role is based primarily between our sites in Bridge of Weir, Paisley, with occasional travel to the site in Glasgow. A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the site locations. The role is part-time (22 hours per week) and either a four or five day per week pattern would work well in this position.
Key Accountabilities
* Coaching, challenging and assisting Line Managers in the understanding and implementation of policies such as performance management, absence management and disciplinary and grievance.
* Interpreting and advising on employment legislation.
* Proactively encouraging and coaching Line Managers to address absence and performance issues.
* Supporting Line Managers in the recruitment of staff.
* Owning and supporting projects on an ad hoc basis.
* Liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy development.
* Completing administration tasks such as meeting notes and procedure outcome letters.
* Working with the Health and Safety team to ensure Occupational Health cases are managed appropriately.
* Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits.
* Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
Key Skills, Experience And Qualifications
* Experience of working in a similar role for at least 5 years, ideally in a fast-paced industrial setting.
* Educated to at least degree level.
* Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification.
* Demonstrable experience of challenging the status quo and making suggestions for improvement.
* Excellent IT Literacy with high proficiency in Excel and Database Application or HRIS.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent administration and organisational skills.
* A full driving license and access to own car.
