This fast-growing utilities business is at the start of an exciting scale-up journey and is looking for a bright, hands-on accountant to take ownership of a newly created role. You'll be the go-to person for financial and commercial reporting for a new business unit - with scope to shape processes, implement reporting and add real commercial value.

The Role:
This is a broad role that blends financial reporting, commercial finance, and data analysis. Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition across water and heat businesses
* Build and maintain reconciliations (e.g. water in/water out) and scalable reporting packs
* Deliver meaningful site-level P&L and margin analysis
* Support pricing decisions by reviewing and challenging cost assumptions
* Lead Ofwat financial reporting and other regulatory requirements
* Oversee third-party billing providers, ensuring accurate and reconciled reporting
* Lay the groundwork for future finance processes in new business areas, including heat billing
What we're looking for:
* ACA or ACCA qualified with around 2-3 years' PQE
* Strong foundation in financial accounting, with some exposure to FP&A or commercial finance
* Able to build models and reports from scratch in Excel (or similar tools)
* Comfortable working with large data sets and extracting meaningful insights
* Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders across the business
* Ideally coming from an SME or mid-sized business background, not a large multinational
* Someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and getting stuck in
