About the role
As a SEN & Primary Learning Support Assistant, you will work across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Your role will involve providing tailored support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, both within mainstream classrooms and in dedicated ALN provisions.
This is a varied and rewarding position where you will help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging within the school community.
Your key responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
Support pupil independence and assist with personal care when required
Manage behaviour using consistent, positive strategies suited to ALN pupils
Support classroom learning and assist with the preparation of resources
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Who we are looking for
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education or care
A patient, calm, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with ALN
An understanding of additional learning needs or a strong interest in inclusive education
Confidence in supporting behaviour positively and constructively
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
A driving licence and access to transport is advantageous but not essential
