Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team with a 48 bedded nursing home. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in a care home or home care setting, ensuring that each resident's needs are met with dignity and respect. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while working collaboratively with other staff members.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
* Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity while providing necessary assistance.
* Follow individual care plans to ensure tailored support for each resident's specific needs.
* Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on care and wellbeing.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to appropriate staff.
* Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge in care practices.
Skills
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
* Experience or knowledge of care plans is advantageous but not essential as training will be given, along with a background in either a care home or home care environment.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial traits for success in this role.
