Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department at General Motors. This role involves developing mechatronic systems to enhance aerodynamics testing for motorsport and high-performance vehicles. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and optimize technical solutions, contributing significantly to the company's competitiveness.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and integrate complex mechatronic systems for automotive testing applications.
2. Create detailed system architectures and specifications.
3. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to develop innovative solutions.
4. Work with external suppliers to evaluate and select components.
5. Conduct system testing, analysis, and debugging.
6. Oversee prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, and software integration.
7. Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA).
* Experience with embedded systems and programming languages (C, C++, Python).
* Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in relevant fields.
* Experience in automotive, motorsports, or aerodynamics testing.
* Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
* Expertise in CAD and mechanical design.
* Knowledge of control systems and theory.
