2026 Hardware Engineering Apprentice - Level 6 Electro-Mechanical Degree Apprenticeship
Join Thales as a Hardware Engineering Apprentice and develop your career in aerospace and defence technology. This apprenticeship is a Level 6 (BEng) program at the University of Nottingham.
Location: Crawley, United Kingdom Start Date: 07 September 2026 Salary: £24,000 per annum Working Schedule: 37hrs a week, Monday – Thursday 8hrs/day, Friday 5hrs (flexible start 07:00‑09:30)

Key responsibilities:
* Design, implement and test engineering solutions in accordance with Thales procedures
* Attend project reviews
* Develop functional and physical system architectures
* Prepare engineering specifications, interface control documents & test documentation
* Deliver tasks on time and to required quality
* Work as a team player, seeking guidance when needed
* Develop knowledge and skills within the engineering discipline
* Effectively communicate engineering issues related to own tasks
Apprentice programme:
* Study towards a BEng in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham
* 5‑year blended learning model: on‑campus lectures, online and work‑based learning
* Full‑funded accredited BEng and Level 6 Electro‑Mechanical Degree Apprenticeship qualification upon completion
* End Point Assessment to demonstrate progress
Requirements:
* 3 A Levels (BBB), including Mathematics (or equivalent BTEC, Level 3 apprenticeship, T Level)
* 5 GCSEs grades A‑C (4‑9) including English and Maths
* Permanent right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo UKSV security clearance (BPSS/SC)
