Overview
Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the East of England in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 6‑month rolling contract.
We have a great opportunity for an experienced planning professional who can demonstrate extensive experience in large scale applications, both residential and commercial, and a track record of managing Planning Performance Agreements.
Responsibilities
* Have worked as a development management major applications officer in a local authority planning department or at an equivalent level in a private practice.
* Have good fundamental and technical knowledge and a solid understanding of all relevant planning legislation and policies.
* Exhibit excellent communication and negotiation skills and effectiveness in a team environment and when dealing with other professionals.
* Take initiative as a motivated self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
* Be able to hit the ground running and carry out weekly or fortnightly site visits.
* Show a track record of managing Planning Performance Agreements.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Possess a post‑graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.
* Be eligible for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Pay & Reference
Pay Rate – £65 per hour (DOE). Job Ref – 65040.
