Are you an experienced and compassionate Teacher or Teaching Assistant, looking to develop and expand your skills working with some of the most vulnerable students in Bristol?
Affinity Workforce Solutions are currently recruiting for a Youth Outreach Support Worker within the Bristol area on a full-time basis. The academy is a specialist alternative provision and this role will be supporting students from KS1 through to KS3 who are at risk of exclusion from their mainstream setting. Outreach Support Workers, play a vital role in supporting these young people- especially those facing behavioural, emotional or social challenges- through tailored early interventions both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role:
Delivering a tailored programme, directly working with students, to intervene in their behaviour and engage them within their education.
Outreach pupils remain in their home schools but receive weekly intervention sessions- therefore the role is to engage with students effectively enough to help prevent exclusion.
Work 1:1 or 2:1 with students; including those with Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs).
Help students re-engage with education through personalised learning and mentoring.
Collaborate with teachers and mentors to ensure consistent, trauma informed support.Essential Requirements:
Extensive experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs in schools, alternative provisions, or youth services.
Confident in independently delivering sessions and interventions to students who may exhibit challenging behaviours
Valid UK driving licence- access to a vehicle with business insurance (or happy to get business insurance).
Strong empathy and resilience.
Valid enhance DBS.
