Scope of the Role
Your role involves building effective relationships with young people using mental health services and their Key Workers. You may assist one individual with medication management and advise another on therapies or social activities. Success depends on establishing trust quickly and helping individuals understand their situations to achieve the best outcomes.
The Mental Health Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering holistic, high-quality care to young people experiencing emotional distress, mental illness, or other difficulties. This emotionally demanding yet rewarding career requires exceptional dedication due to the unique nature of mental health nursing.
Personal Specification
* Hold a relevant Nursing Qualification and be NMC Registered
* Proficient in patient care practices
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Develop and implement person-centered care plans tailored to individual needs
Main Duties
* Monitor and evaluate young people's progress and adjust care plans accordingly
* Attend relevant meetings, training, and reviews
* Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care
* Offer therapeutic interventions and support to young people
* Conduct assessments to identify needs
* Administer medication and monitor its effectiveness
* Deliver training to staff on mental health, wellbeing practices, and interventions as needed
Support and Training
* Undertake WhiteTrees induction programme
* Complete regular NFPS physical intervention and behaviour management training
* Participate in monthly supervisions with the Senior Leadership Team and Wellbeing to support your development within WhiteTrees
