Capgemini is recruiting experienced Quality Engineers at a Lead level to join our dynamic team building solutions for a public sector client. This role involves delivering critical digital services from cradle to grave on various projects featuring high‑performance cloud platforms using Java‑based languages and traditional infrastructure.
As a member of our self‑empowered, multi‑disciplined teams, you’ll shape how you work using the latest industry practices, tools, and technologies while collaborating in a mature Agile environment alongside specialists from other disciplines.
Lead Quality Engineers are expected to possess advanced technical expertise, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a proven track record of leading complex engineering projects. The role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, quality assurance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Hybrid working: Your location will depend on your role and business requirements. It typically includes a mix of company offices, client sites, and remote work with no fully remote option.
Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee engineering projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines.
* Drive innovation by developing and implementing cutting‑edge engineering solutions.
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
* Support the development of engineers in their technical careers and performance management.
Qualifications & Skills
Your Skills and Experience
* Strong understanding of the QA process and test design.
* Hands‑on experience using and maintaining automated test frameworks such as Cucumber, JUnit.
* Knowledge of stubbing / mocking frameworks such as Wiremock.
* Understanding of non‑functional testing such as performance, security, or accessibility.
* Experience with version control systems (Git or equivalent).
* Strong experience of iterative/incremental software delivery.
* Hands‑on experience across all levels of the test automation pyramid.
* Experience in API testing and tools.
* Experienced in functional or system testing.
* Experience using project management tooling such as JIRA.
* Good knowledge of Agile methodologies.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong problem‑solving and collaborative skills.
* Proactive in identifying areas of improvement.

Security Clearance
To be appointed to this role, a Security Check (SC) clearance is required. Successful candidates must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last five years and meet other security criteria.
