Team Overview: Within one of these Business Units, Alternative Heat deliver turnkey plantroom packages at scale, directly to hyperscale developers throughout Europe, under long-term framework agreements. This Business Unit is scaling at pace, and we have secured a 5-year framework agreement to design, manufacture and deliver volume based, turnkey plantroom modules (mechanical, electrical and BMS) to projects throughout Europe, with demand set to increase annually. In line with this, we need to recruit a Head of Operations (M&E) to oversee, manage and develop the offsite operational delivery of these plantrooms, managing and developing our mechanical, electrical, BMS and offsite assembly teams. There would also be an aspiration, for the Head of Operations (M&E) to sit on the Senior Leadership team of the project to help oversee and manage cross-functional management and performance of the project under the framework, providing leadership and governance as we scale our teams in order to increase productivity and scale capacity. Role Overview: The Head of Operations (M&E) will provide executive leadership and strategic direction across the operational delivery of our Offsite Modular plantroom framework, having overall ownership and management of our mechanical, electrical, BMS and offsite assembly teams, including management and resourcing of our subcontracted labour. They will be responsible for developing, mentoring and growing our offsite operations teams in line with current and future demand, optimizing and refining manufacturing and assembly operations and processes to align with programme, commercials and demand. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams, foster a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Operations (M&E) will sit on the Senior Leadership team of the project to help oversee and manage cross-functional management and performance of the project under the framework, providing leadership and governance as well as having visibility and input to the commercial, engineering, design, quality and logistical functions of the framework delivery. The position also requires maintaining visibility over workload, capacity, and delivery risks across all timeframes, supported by integrated and digitally advanced planning processes. Additionally, it carries executive responsibility for health, safety, quality, and compliance, ensuring robust governance and risk management systems are in place. Ultimately, the role champions operational excellence through innovation, including investment in advanced manufacturing, automation, and digital tools to improve efficiency, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
