The role involves working across various projects, initially focusing on developing planning projects such as movement strategies, master planning of strategic sites, and supporting reserved matters applications.
What You'll Do:
* Prepare technical reports, including Access Appraisals, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and WCHAR / ATZ Assessments and Reviews.
* Conduct junction capacity modelling and CAD design work, including Swept Path Analysis.
* Liaise with stakeholders, project team members, and clients.
* Represent the company at meetings, public consultations, and exhibitions.
What We're Looking For:
We seek a highly capable and adaptable Senior Transport Planner with strong intellectual, professional, and interpersonal skills. You should be pragmatic, resilient, and systematic in problem-solving, with excellent analytical and numeracy skills, including proficiency in MS Excel. Strong communication skills are essential to convey complex issues clearly to diverse stakeholders. You should be well-organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and have a creative mindset for producing marketing materials. Self-motivation, independent research ability, and high-quality report writing are also important.
Qualifications
* Degree in Geography, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Planning, or Transport Planning preferred but not essential. Additional qualifications are advantageous.
* Working towards or achieved TPS PDS is desirable but not essential.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Transport Planner with a commitment to CPD.
* Established professional network, ideally in the south-west region.
* Experience managing small-scale projects from start to finish.
* Proficient in preparing feasibility studies, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, and Travel Plans; CAD capability is a plus.
* Experience with TRICS, TemPro, Junctions 9 (Arcady/Picady); experience with LinSig, GIS, or Microsimulation is beneficial.
