Our client in Galashiels is looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their busy team. As a Finance Assistant you will play a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial policies, and contributing to the smooth operation of the company’s accounts payable function. Key Responsibilities: Ensure invoices are properly authorised and coded Prepare accruals Maintain files and records Perform Bank / Cashbook input and reconciliation: Pay suppliers and send remittances Produce month end working papers file: Fixed Assets, enter new assets depreciate and reconcile Purchase and Sales Ledger reconciliations Any other ad-hoc duties as reasonably requested Position Requirements Previous experience within a finance department Experience using Finance Software package desirable Microsoft Excel / Word working knowledge required Basic accounts knowledge Good administrative, organisational and communication skills Key Competencies specific to the role (presentation skills, attention to detail, capability to influence and negotiate) Ability to report accurate results against demanding time schedules and an ability to set priorities and multi-task Robust business knowledge and technical skills Willingness and ability to learn new skills This is a full time position.
