It is particularly well regarded for advising a diverse client base which ranges from real estate developers, housebuilders, property investment companies, contractors and subcontractors, to major engineering consultancies. The team also supports private clients involved in high-value residential construction projects. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a Construction, Engineering & Projects Associate (2-4 PQE) to join a respected, collaborative London-based team where non-contentious work is emphasised, but there is flexibility to support a wide variety of both non-contentious and contentious matters. You will enjoy a significant level of personal responsibility and direct client contact, working in an environment that values teamwork and support. Responsibilities include: Advising government bodies, sponsors, funders, developers, employers, constructors, subcontractors, and professional teams on dispute avoidance and resolution mechanisms, alongside project procurement strategies (including facilities management). Building and maintaining strong client relationships by providing timely, high-quality advice and managing expectations. Drafting, negotiating, and advising on construction and engineering-related documents, including contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds/guarantees, letters of intent, and reliance letters. In terms of potential contentious work if that is within your skillset, you can get involved in work such as adjudications, arbitrations, TCC litigation and ADR, dealing with a range of disputes including delay claims, quality issues, insolvency, bond claims, ACM-cladding/fire safety defects, professional indemnity, and insurance-related matters. Contributing to team knowledge, marketing, and know-how initiatives and ensuring compliance. The Ideal Candidate An England & Wales-qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 2-4 years PQE. Experience and particular strength in non-contentious construction work. Confident and polished in both verbal and written communication, equally at home discussing complex legal issues with clients and technical experts. Flexible and proactive, willing to go the extra mile when needed.
