Job overview

We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual who genuinely has a desire to work in the speciality of Fit Testing and Infection Prevention and Control. You must be passionate about staff and patient safety, enthusiastic about exploring new ways of working and a team player, to help us deliver our overall Healthcare Associated Infection improvement strategy at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

We are a small team with a supportive administration team providing a 5 -day service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Fit Testing / IPC Support team undertaking a range of support activities with clinical staff across the Trust. This predominantly includes undertaking fit testing for FFP3 masks to ensure staff are wearing the most suitable mask to keep them safe. The post holder will also provide support, training and audit on IPC including sluice audits, environmental audits etc.

Essential criteria

1. Communicates well in a clear and concise manner and good listening skills and is able to adopt an appropriate style and method of communication.
2. Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
3. Able to work as part of a team and independently.
4. Ability to use initiative to make a decision within sphere of work and/or knowledge recognising where assistance is required.
5. Have a flexible approach to working hours and practices.
6. Positive approach to service provision.
7. Ability to demonstrate 6Cs in practice.

8. Clinical experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

11. GCSEs A-C (Maths & English) or equivalent qualification or experience
12. NVQ Level 2 in Care (Level 2 Diploma in HealthCare) or able to demonstrate appropriate transferable experience.

13. Attendance at Novice and leadership improvement sessions within first year of role
