Café Front of House Manager – Cheltenham

We're looking for a dynamic and people-focused House Manager to lead our café in Cheltenham. This is a key role combining hospitality leadership with house management skills, ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent customer experience, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Overview
As Café House Manager, you'll oversee both the front of house and behind-the-scenes operations. From supervising staff and managing rotas to ensuring hygiene, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, you'll be at the heart of keeping the café running efficiently while upholding our values of quality, community, and care.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support café staff (baristas, kitchen, FOH)
-Manage daily schedules and staff rotas
-Oversee cleanliness, maintenance & health & safety compliance
* Deliver excellent customer service, greeting guests & resolving queries
* Manage inventory & stock control with local & sustainable sourcing
* Work with suppliers & vendors for quality and timely deliveries
* Handle admin: billing, scheduling, budgeting & record-keeping
-Train and coach staff for confidence & performance
* Lead sustainability initiatives (waste reduction, recycling, ethical sourcing)
* Organize events & promotions to boost community engagement
* Act as the public face of the café, upholding its ethos
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in café or hospitality management
* Strong leadership, organizational & communication skills
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene & H&S legislation
* Competency in budgeting, inventory & admin tasks
* Passion for sustainability & local sourcing
* Resilient & flexible in a busy, customer-facing environment
