Overview
Scanning Radiographer role at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) NHS Trust. RNOH is the largest specialist orthopaedic Trust in the UK, recognised for world‑leading orthopaedic imaging and research. The post is based in the Scanning Department on the Stanmore site, which recently upgraded its Siemens X.Cite CT scanner and Philips Elition X 3T MRI scanner.
Responsibilities
* Manage workload effectively, applying knowledge and skill to produce high‑quality images and adapt techniques to meet complex patient requirements.
* Support patient flow through the prompt protocolling of requests, corresponding with clinical teams and radiologists where needed, and responding to MRI safety queries and concerns.
* Ensure a safe, patient‑focused service, responding to and diffusing any potential complaints or concerns.
* Actively contribute to departmental audits and service improvements.
* Support and deputise for the scanning superintendent radiographer, gaining experience in managerial duties such as appraisals and recruitment.
* Develop further managerial skills through the Trust’s leadership and management training programmes.
Qualifications
* Band 7 radiographer with good experience in cross‑sectional imaging.
* Strong grasp of orthopaedic imaging techniques and safety protocols.
* Evidence of teamwork and the ability to work a full on‑call service, including weekends and out of hours.
* Leadership potential and a willingness to engage in training and professional development.
