The portfolio director provides comprehensive leadership across various revenue streams, ensuring alignment with the overall medical communications strategic plan. The role includes accountability for the portfolio's performance and KPIs, including revenue, growth, and other targets, while also exploring new business opportunities. It requires leading client relationships to ensure business protection and growth through effective delivery of client expectations. Additionally, the role involves facilitating operational, business, and resource needs across the agency and promoting best practice leadership across all accounts and the agency.
* Work with senior Client Service and Scientific team leads to establish best-practice standards and success across all performance benchmarks.
* Be the principal point of contact for key internal and third-party stakeholders involved with the strategy and delivery within your portfolio.
* Act as a role model of motivational leadership, to inspire your teams and colleagues to excel and ensure that high-performance culture is built and maintained.
* Assess performance benchmarks, contributions, and compensation plans; implement proactive succession planning to enable team and individual growth.
* Provide direction and guidance to account team members on client and project issues; empower account team leaders to develop their skills and work autonomously.
* Participate in training and development programs, coaching team members and leading workshops; oversee company-wide responsibilities as directed.
* Collaborate with Med Comms Leadership Team and Bioscript Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic guidance and direction; ensure optimal resourcing and conduct regular 'Health Check' meetings with clients.
* Develop professional relationships with key client stakeholders; support teams in providing strategically aligned communications activities and creative input.
* Combine product/therapy area understanding with commercial awareness for high-level strategic and tactical communication planning.
* Define and drive the commercial direction of the portfolio; review account performance with Med Comms LT, ensuring alignment with KPIs and vision of BSG.
* Ensure Client Account Plans are understood and actioned; provide accurate financial data and ensure market-value pricing.
* Identify and drive opportunities for organic growth; support BD activities and contribute to the BSG growth strategy.

You are likely to have had 10-15 years' experience in Medical Communications:
* Leading multi-disciplinary teams
* Partnering with clients to develop and implement strategic communications plans
* Have had responsibility for a business unit or small agency, including forecasting, financial management, team development and account growth plans
* Representing unit/agency performance and plans at Senior Leadership level
