Erewash Borough Council is on the lookout for a knowledgeable and forward‑thinking Building Control Officer to play a key role in delivering expert guidance across a broad range of domestic, commercial, and mixed‑use developments.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assessing building regulation applications and carrying out site inspections
* Contributing to safe, sustainable, and compliant developments across Erewash, Broxtowe, Mansfield, Ashfield and Gedling
* Supporting demolition licensing and the dangerous structures response service
* Mentoring Assistant Building Control Officers and supporting professional development
Qualifications
* Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent relevant experience) or HNC/HND in construction and experience as a qualified Building Surveyor
* Ideally corporate membership or working towards corporate membership of: CABE, CIOB, or RICS
* Willingness (or ability) to achieve LABC Level 6 Competency through assessment and achieve level 2F validation with the Building Safety Regulator
* Understanding of the Building Act 1984 and the Building Regulations
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to maintaining high service standards, Disability Confident
