Tools and Technologies

Responsibilities
* Produce engineering models and detail drawings using Inventor and ACAD.
* Perform finite analysis using ANSYS.
* By agreement; Orcaflex and Thermal analysis.
* Eliminate, reduce or control foreseeable health and safety risks through the design process.
* Produce test procedures, reports and manuals.
* Contact customers and suppliers for technical support to project managers.
* Analyse and solve technical problems and provide solutions in a timely manner.
* Investigate new technologies or existing technologies.
* Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.
* Carry out work in accordance with operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
Quality, Health and Safety
* Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to to the extent reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.
* Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems and take an active part in compliance and improvement.
* Report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to Company processes/procedures.
* Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest use of more environmentally friendly substances, contribute to continuous improvement of the environment.
Qualifications
* Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years design engineering experience.
* Mathcad and Autodesk software proficiency.
* Good interpersonal skills, with experience in managing customer and supplier relationships.
* Commercial awareness is highly desired for the role.
* Competent in Excel Spreadsheet and Office Word documents.
* Able to perform structural hand calculation skills with a working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
* Knowledge of metals, alloys and phosphorous would also be highly desired but not essential.

Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm
(37 hour week)
