We are currently recruiting on behalf of a long-established client, a leading 3PL business delivering supply chain solutions across the UK and Europe.
They are seeking a Logistics & Contract Manager to join their Essex site. In this role, you will be responsible for operational optimisation, contract management, and leveraging data to guide strategy and improve performance. You will combine commercial expertise with systems knowledge to drive operational efficiency and support the business’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and drive operational performance across all logistics activities, ensuring processes run efficiently, resources are optimised, and operational goals are consistently achieved.
* Analyse P&L and manage budgets to deliver commercial results, identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and increased profitability.
* Oversee contractual compliance and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring service levels are met and fostering trust with key stakeholders.
* Conduct regular contract reviews and provide proactive recommendations to mitigate risk, improve operational outcomes, and maximise commercial opportunities.
* Lead, coach, and develop the team, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved while promoting professional growth.
* Optimise warehouse processes and procedures, implementing best practices to increase throughput, accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.
* Maximise the use of WMS systems and support system integration projects, ensuring accurate tracking, efficient workflows, and seamless reporting.
* Produce actionable insights through reporting and analysis using Excel and Power BI, leveraging data to guide improvements in operational and commercial performance.
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience in a 3PL or logistics management role
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and budgets
* Confident with WMS systems and operational reporting
* Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for reporting and analysis
* Experience managing KPIs, SLAs, and customer contracts
* Systems-focused, using data to drive operational and commercial improvements
* Experienced in managing operational teams and processes
* Collaborative and able to support wider business initiatives
