Overview
Machinery specific. To aid in the commissioning and decommissioning of lasers. To work on all aspects of an install alongside contractors and the Production team. Represent the business and behave as the liaison between our main suppliers including, but not limited to, Trumpf/Linde/TVL, and any other suppliers that have equipment on site. Schedule engineers and have an awareness of the work they are carrying out and when.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults throughout Production on all equipment, and decide on the best course of action to ensure that they are repaired or replaced efficiently. Respond to breakdowns on an urgent basis.
* Inspect machinery consumables including oil, greases, water, and filters to make sure they are at full capacity and replace the consumables when necessary.
* Undertake scheduled maintenance of all lasers on site.
* To perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on the Timesaver 10 series and the dispatch banding machine.
* To perform daily forklift inspection on all the forklift trucks, and to perform the basic maintenance for them.
* Supervise the machinery after any external operators have performed their maintenance. Consult with the shift supervisor on scheduling further maintenance when required.
* To perform the maintenance for the rail cleaners and advise when rails should be changed.
* To perform inspections and maintenance on the compressor equipment, including the airlines each week.
* Schedule and perform weekly / monthly servicing on all other electrical power equipment.
* To perform daily inspections for forklifts, loaders, rail cleaners, linishers, compressors. Advise and replace any components where necessary.
* Conduct daily racking inspections alongside with the Production Supervisors and advise the Production Manager of any required replacements ensuring the repairs happen within a sensible and safe period.
* Aim to achieve alongside the Production Manager lean production operations, taking into consideration effective ergonomics on the shop floor.
* Manage stocks, supplies and equipment alongside the Production Assistants.
* To perform daily sheet leader checks and maintenance.
* Maintaining hand tools, power tools and workstations whilst working towards and advising of lean production techniques, taking into consideration effective ergonomics on the shop floor.
Compliance
* Responsibility for the PAT testing for all Lasered Components sites annually.
* Maintain calibration records for ISO and CE for all production equipment.
* Obtain / source specialist components, fixtures, or fittings.
* Conduct ad hoc internal project work to enhance the workings of the business.
* Set up and maintain a database of all tools and machinery, utilise Safety Cloud or the Health & Safety Company’s platform as a system to support the database.
* Help maintain and advise on health and safety measures within Production. Report any findings for compliance. Assist in regular internal audits.
* Complete weekly fire Alarm check sheets alongside the shift Supervisors.
* Maintain any necessary COSHH requirements and ensure that the Production Cleaning operatives adhere to these.
