English & Drama Teacher / Instructor - Barrow-in-Furness

Are you a creative educator with a passion for literature and the performing arts? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic English & Drama Teacher or Instructor to join an OFSTED-rated 'Good' mainstream secondary school in Barrow-in-Furness.
Starting ASAP on a long-term basis through to Summer 2026, this role is perfect for someone who can inspire students through both the written word and the stage. We welcome applications from experienced instructors, ECTs, and fully qualified teachers.
The Role
In this dual-specialism role, you will be responsible for:
Curriculum Delivery: Teaching English Language, Literature, and Drama across KS3 and KS4.
Creative Engagement: Leading practical Drama sessions that build student confidence, communication, and performance skills.
Academic Excellence: Preparing students for English GCSEs, focusing on analytical writing and critical thinking.
Lesson Planning: Creating inclusive, high-energy lessons that cater to a wide range of learning styles and abilities.
Assessment: Tracking progress across both subjects and providing feedback that helps students reach their full potential.
What We Are Looking For
QTS Preferred: Qualified Teacher Status is an advantage, but we highly encourage applications from experienced Instructors with a strong background in English or the Performing Arts.
A degree in English, Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
Proven experience managing a secondary classroom and delivering the UK National Curriculum.
A flair for creativity and the ability to make complex texts accessible and engaging for all learners.
Enhanced DBS clearance and a full 10-year employment history.
