Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy unit for suitably qualified nurses to join our team. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with an interest in working in this fast paced environment.

Although having experience of gastroenterology and knowledge of our services would be an advantage it is not essential as a full and comprehensive training package is available.

The Endoscopy service is provided across both The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), Redcar Primary Care Hospital and Friarage Hospital (FHN) site, this post is primarily for James Cook Hospital and Redcar Primary Care Hospital, however we do on occasions provide cross site cover.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be committed to providing a high standard of patient care, and also to their own personal development. The applicant must have excellent communication skills and be supportive and open to new initiatives.

Successful applicants would be expected to participate in the out of hours on call rota once deemed competent.

9. Commitment to the needs of the service including a flexible and adaptable approach in the work environment/work practices
10. Effectively prioritises and co-ordinates own work
11. Ability to use initiative to make a decision within sphere of work and/or knowledge recognising where assistance is required
12. Commitment to adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures and to contribute to an implement policy in own area and propose changes

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost of their DBS. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay.
