About Spoken Culture: Spoken Culture is a London-based arts and culture platform producing live poetry experiences, community programming, and artist development initiatives across Ontario. We create elevated spaces where poets, spoken word artists, musicians, and audiences connect through performance and storytelling.
Core initiatives include: The Black History Slam (annual flagship production); The Poet Chronicles (collaborative poetry media series); The Spoken Culture Artist Roster Directory (launching Spring 2026); Draft Society Networking Events (Spring and fall); Community workshops and youth engagement programming.
Role Overview: The Community Partnerships Coordinator leads outreach and relationship-building efforts for Spoken Culture’s community initiatives and flagship productions, focusing on cultivating strategic partnerships to expand visibility, strengthen programming, support sponsorship and collaboration, and contribute to long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and research potential community partners aligned with Spoken Culture’s mission
* Conduct outreach to organizations, institutions, and local leaders
* Maintain communication with existing partners
* Support sponsorship conversations and collaboration agreements
* Coordinate cross-promotion and shared initiatives
* Track partnership opportunities, engagement, and outcomes
* Assist in preparing partnership decks or briefing materials as needed
Estimated Commitment
Approximately 8–12 hours per week on average, with increased coordination during major event cycles and occasional attendance at events if required.
Eligibility
* Confident communicating with organizations and professionals
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Organized, proactive, and relationship-oriented
* Interest or experience in community engagement, arts, cultural programming, or nonprofit work
* Professional representation of Spoken Culture in external settings
* Previous partnership, outreach, sponsorship, or community engagement experience is an asset but not required
