Job Title: Building Safety Maintenance Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced Building Safety Maintenance Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will:
1. Conduct pre- and post-inspections of fire risk actions completed by contractors and colleagues across Hertfordshire, Essex, and North London to ensure high-quality work.
2. Provide technical advice and support to trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
3. Manage contracts and monitor progress against building works schedules, utilizing customer insights to meet service promises.
4. Ensure all works meet health and safety standards with zero tolerance for non-compliance.
5. Oversee Fire Safety Contractors, including Fire Alarms, AOV Systems, and related issues.
6. Manage Passive Fire Safety Contractors for fire door replacements, remediations, and compartmentation/firestopping projects, along with yearly asbestos reinspection across the region.
7. Work Monday to Friday, with a flexible schedule, including a hybrid work model with 1-2 days from home or local office and the rest in the field.
8. Use technology effectively for record updates, budget and KPI management, online learning, and collaboration.
9. Complete a Standard DBS check (paid for by us) and maintain a vehicle insured for business purposes (mileage paid).
10. Possess building surveying experience, including property condition and Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions, with the ability to specify remedial works.
11. Hold a CIOB Level 6 Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent, with RICS or CIOB registration preferred.
12. Maintain current knowledge of building repairs, construction, and safety standards.
13. Manage budgets and control expenditure effectively.
14. Work independently to manage your patch, delivering projects on time and within budget.
