Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance and Operations Supervisor (Shift) to lead and support a skilled team responsible for delivering both planned and reactive building maintenance across a large and diverse property portfolio. Working on a shift basis, the role is critical to ensuring operational efficiency, staff coordination, health and safety compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
You will assist in the coordination and delivery of maintenance operations, acting as a point of escalation and leadership for a team of operatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining essential services, reducing downtime, and optimising resource deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and direct the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team.
* Plan and allocate reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.
* Manage staff performance, training, and development needs.
* Monitor service performance using CAFM systems and provide regular reports.
* Lead on incident management and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
* Support sustainability and energy-saving initiatives.
* Liaise with contractors and issue Permits to Work (PTW).
* Order and procure maintenance materials and equipment.
* Provide technical support and conduct fault diagnostics.
About You
* Recognised trade qualification and significant operational maintenance experience.
* Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a busy facilities environment.
* Experience with health and safety compliance, including RAMS and PTW processes.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Experience using maintenance systems (e.g. CAFM) and reporting tools.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* A positive, flexible, and professional approach to challenges.
Working Pattern:
* 12-hour shifts (11 hours paid, 1-hour unpaid break):
* 4 days on / 4 off ? 4 nights / 4 off repeat
