About the role
You will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and take day to day ownership of financial operations for several subsidiaries. This includes preparing monthly management accounts, maintaining accurate P and L statements and balance sheets, completing all balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger.
You will monitor performance through variance analysis, provide meaningful financial insights for senior managers, support external audits and contribute to improving processes and controls. You will also oversee a small transactional team of four based in Manchester, helping align ways of working across the group.
Working pattern and travel
The role is based in Nottingham with weekly travel to Manchester. There may be the occasional overnight stay when needed and all travel and hotel costs are covered.
You will work three days per week on site in total.
Initially this is likely to be two days in Manchester and one in Nottingham.
Over time this will move to two days in Nottingham and one in Manchester.
Longer term this becomes three days in Nottingham with two days working from home.
A full UK driving licence is required.
