Job Summary
The job holder will support the Safer Custody and Security Intelligence Departments by assisting in the delivery of intelligence and information systems, maintaining administration systems, and working alongside security teams to focus on Safer Custody issues. This is a non-operational, rotational role with no line management responsibilities.
Responsibilities, Activities, and Duties
* Analyse and evaluate information from various sources to support decision-making related to Safer Custody issues and incident management. Conduct further analysis on IRS and Mercury systems as needed.
* Use data and trend analysis to inform staff about Safer Custody issues within the establishment, across comparator establishments, and throughout the prison estate.
* Produce and present a monthly Safer Custody Intelligence Report, including feedback and discussion at relevant meetings.
* Update management on local, regional, and national Safer Custody issues and intelligence affecting prisoner support mechanisms.
* Ensure all relevant intelligence and recording systems are maintained and staff are trained in their use.
* Assess received intelligence, determine importance, and recommend responses.
* Distribute monthly objectives from Safer Custody departments.
* Deliver training on information gathering procedures, including induction and ongoing training.
* Liaise with external agencies and disseminate intelligence information in line with policies.
* Advise Safer Custody and Security Managers on current trends and issues.
* Coordinate communication and support across departments regarding Safer Custody objectives.
Administrative Tasks
* Maintain accurate records, manage communications, and complete monitoring returns.
* Input requisitions, organize awareness sessions, and prepare documentation for checks.
* Correspond with stakeholders, maintain databases, and produce reports.
* Arrange meetings, prepare minutes, and track action points.

Training in administrative specialisms is required, and transfer to a Young Persons establishment involves an assessment for suitability to work with Young People.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ability to deal assertively with staff at all levels.
* Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
* Strong information collation and analysis skills.
