This role is on behalf of MWI Animal Health UK, a Cencora company. MWI Animal Health UK was Founded by veterinarians, for veterinarians. We deliver a quality wholesale service, a secure supply chain and business continuity for veterinary practices across the UK. Combined with marketing-leading, innovative practice technology and one of the largest group purchasing organisations, we work in partnership to support veterinary practices, animal owners, manufacturers and retailers.
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the General Ledger including Fixed Assets, Inventory and other Balance Sheet matters as well as the month end and year end processes. Responsibility for managing both the general ledger and sales ledger teams, as well as mentoring the wider finance team, whilst proactively identifying and implementing process improvement across the department to underpin an enhanced control environment.
Responsibilities:

Own the Month End process, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are completed in a timely fashion against Group reporting deadlines

Produce the monthly management accounts and present to the Financial Controller
*
Provide ledger code analysis on a monthly basis
*
Ensure Balance Sheet submissions are reconciled and agree to the accounting systems to Group reporting deadline
*
Fully participate and lead, as needed, on finance projects including, but not limited to, the streamlining and improved efficiency of the finance function
*
Play a key role in the planning and execution of the statutory audit to Group reporting deadline
*
Proactive in the critical review of and improvement to internal controls on an ongoing basis
*
Proactively identify process improvements and work with the necessary teams to implement these process improvements
*
Understand the Companies standard operating procedures and attend training sessions as appropriate
*
Take responsibility for driving performance and engagement through the team
*
Establish and implement a continuous improvement projects
Requirements:
*
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
*
Experience of producing management and statutory accounts
*
VAT return calculation and submission
*
Proven people management skills and mentoring skills
*
Excellent communication and team working skills
*
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
*
Good organisational skills and an ability to work to deadlines
*
Good change management skills
*
Good IT skills – Microsoft Excel and preferable but not essential, SAP
*
Willingness to work in a hybrid model (4 days per week from home, 1 day per week in the office)
