This is an excellent role for a Concrete Technologist to join a global manufacturer of Construction Chemicals, working within their Admixtures division.The main role will be to support and assist the Technical Services Manager in the efficient running of the laboratory. The aim of the laboratory is to provide a mix design development & mix design optimisation service for the UK customer base. This will include working closely with the sales team and ensuring the correct training & development of them and the laboratory staff. Due to the technically demanding nature of the UK construction market the role will include the planning & execution of trial mix schedules to assist the sales team in expanding their customer base. Working as part of a small team it will be necessary to carry out tests on the incoming raw materials, finished products and concrete at the laboratory. Developing & maintaining a relationship with the key technical teams of the company's customers is a fundamental requirement of the role. It is expected that some travel & overnight stays will be required therefore, a valid UK driving licence is essential. They are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and is able to carry out their workload to strict procedures with a methodical and practical approach. Excellent organisation and communication skills are required, a good quality of written work, good record keeping skills and laboratory practical skills. Full training will be given.Essential Requirements:Ideally be educated to a minimum of Level 4 or 5, with GCSE's grade C or equivalent in English, Maths & in a science based discipline.An understanding and working capability of Microsoft Excel.Experience in supervising a laboratory and it's workforce.Previous experience in the construction chemicals industry/concrete/admixtures sectors.Previous experience and/or qualifications in concrete and construction materials testing.Full UK driving licence.Desirable:Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & PowerPoint.Ability to be flexible & adapt/improvise appropriately to the situation The hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday with 30 minute break 08:00am - 4.00pm, some flexibility may be required, as out of hours may be needed for site visits.A company car will be provided for this role.If you feel you have the required skills and experience as stated above, please apply immediately.
