As a Reaction Hazards Chemist, you will evaluate the safety properties and operating envelopes of JM's materials including Platinum Group Metal (PGM) complexes, catalysts and processes.
This is a hands-on role which will involve setting up a reaction hazards laboratory including calorimetry methods, thermal analysis, and dust testing. Subsequently, you will carry out such reaction hazard testing in support of JM's businesses; and advising businesses as to what testing is required and aiding with the interpretation and application of the data.
This role would welcome someone with knowledge of hazards testing within a controlled lab environment.
The role:
1. To provide support to businesses, JMTC and potentially customers in reaction process safety: consultancy on required testing
2. Undertake reaction hazard testing, (such as calorimetry, thermal analysis, dust testing) in support of JMs sites, businesses and potential customers
3. To collaborate with JM businesses (operating sites and technology) and JMTC on specific projects, helping to identify the relevant testing and support in interpretation of the results.
