About the Role
We are seeking a Practice Supervisor to support and direct social work practice within the Child Protection & Family Support Service Area. The role will supervise a small team of social workers handling child‑in‑need, child protection plan, and looked‑after children cases, and work closely with partners such as education and health to ensure families receive appropriate support.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and provide day‑to‑day support to a small team of social workers.
* Ensure high‑quality assessment, planning and service delivery.
* Lead and chair multidisciplinary meetings and build relationships with partners.
* Share expertise, provide leadership and direction, and facilitate staff development.
* Ensure safeguarding of children and compliance with child‑protection policies.
Requirements
* Experienced social worker with a strong record in practice development.
* Commitment to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
* Track record of supporting the development of others, including students and newly qualified social workers.
* Desire to improve standards of social work and steer toward outstanding practice.
* Clear understanding of high‑quality social work assessment and planning.
* Experience chairing multi‑agency meetings.
* Able to offer high challenge and high support to staff.
* Subject to DBS check at the appropriate level.
Working Hours & Pay
Hours: 37 and 18.5. Salary: £48,226 – £50,269 for 37 hours, £24,113 – £25,134 for 18.5 hours. Market rate supplement of £3,000 pro‑rata reviewed annually.
