Category Lead (Temporary - 12 Months) - Exclusive with Sandvik Location: 11 Aghnagar Road, Ballygawley Vickerstock are proud to be exclusively partnering with Sandvik, a global leader in the Mobile Crushing & Screening industry, to recruit a Category Lead (Temporary 12 Months). This role has been created to support the company's continued growth and increased demand across their supply chain. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a world-class organisation where you will play a key role in managing supply continuity for NPD (New Product Development) and Aftermarket categories while collaborating closely with multi-functional teams across the business. The Role: As Category Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring a robust and uninterrupted supply chain for both NPD and Aftermarket categories. You will work in close partnership with engineers, production, logistics, finance, and R&D teams to proactively manage supplier performance, identify supply risks, and drive commercial negotiations. This role is highly collaborative and will require excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as you support Sandvik's innovation and production goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead supplier management within the NPD and Aftermarket categories, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship building. Collaborate extensively with engineering, production, finance, logistics, and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with product development and production planning. Proactively identify and resolve potential supply issues before they impact production or project timelines. Deliver measurable cost savings and ensure best total cost of ownership through design-to-value initiatives and supplier negotiations. Prepare and present regular category reports, including cost-saving achievements and supplier performance updates. Monitor purchasing activities, resolve issues, and escalate concerns where appropriate to ensure the smooth progression of purchase requisitions and orders. Develop expert knowledge of the global, regional, and local supply markets for your category. Provide procurement support across the business and offer cover for fellow Category Leads when needed. What You Need: Demonstrated procurement/purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Proven success in supplier negotiations and commercial agreement management. Strong supplier relationship management skills with a focus on quality, delivery, and cost. Excellent stakeholder management abilities with a collaborative, team-focused approach. Prior experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly with engineering and NPD teams, is highly desirable. Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Strong MS Office skills and excellent written and verbal communication. Full driving licence with business insurance and willingness to travel to supplier sites as required.
