This post is based within the Research Degrees and Researcher Development Team (RDRD) within the Directorate of Research and Business Engagement (RBE), which supports the ongoing development of strategy and policy for research, business engagement, and postgraduate research and works together with faculties and other PS directorates to ensure effective operational support for research and researchers.
The post-holder will contribute significantly to the ongoing design, development and implementation of strategy, policy and activities in postgraduate research and will have a significant role in leading strategic projects in support of the Manchester Doctoral College Strategy Group (MDCSG) and the Research Committee (RC).
The post-holder will manage the research degrees team and lead projects to provide high level professional and administrative support to the development and implementation of strategy, policy, processes and systems in postgraduate research. This will involve working in close partnership with a wide range of academic and administrative colleagues across the University as well as contacts in external organisations and funding bodies, managing institutional projects and collaborative partnerships, establishing and maintaining effective networks, preparing reports for senior committees and external bodies and ensuring appropriate processes and systems are in place to deliver postgraduate research of the highest quality.
You will also be required at times to deputise for the Head of the Research Degrees and Researcher Development Team as necessary.
Ideal applicants will have significant experience in Higher Education administration of postgraduate research within a national and international context.
