We have an exciting opportunity for a 12-Month Aerodynamics Graduate Industrial Placement student to join the Cadillac Formula 1™ Team at our new, state-of-the-art facility in Silverstone, UK. As part of the Aerodynamics Department, you will work closely with experienced Aerodynamicists, CFD Engineers, and Model Technicians to support the development and validation of aerodynamic concepts. What you’ll be doing: Support wind tunnel testing activities, including model preparation, instrumentation, and data collection Help design and develop automated tools and code to track, analyse, and visualise aerodynamic performance data from CFD, wind tunnel and track testing to support engineering decision making Assist with CFD post-processing and contribute to aerodynamic performance analysis Collaborate with engineers to translate design intent into physical and digital test components Prepare concise reports and visual summaries of test findings and development progress Take ownership of defined tasks within the aero development cycle, with mentorship from senior staff Requirements Driven by high performance What do you need to bring to the team? Studying for an MEng degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Aerodynamic Engineering, ideally having completed Year 3 of 4 A solid understanding of aerodynamics, CFD principles, and fluid mechanics Prior industrial placement experience in an engineering or motorsport environment (preferred) Practical experience with CFD tools (e.g. Star CCM, OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent) and Python scripting Basic proficiency with CAD software (CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks) for geometry handling A proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for motorsport and innovation A team like no other.
