Learning Support Assistant (1:1 SEN Support) – Primary School

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Colchester.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally within a mainstream classroom environment.
The Role
* Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN within the classroom
* Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet the pupil’s learning needs
* Support engagement, focus and emotional regulation throughout the school day
* Encourage confidence, independence and positive social interaction
* Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to support the pupil’s individual learning plan
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, communication needs or developmental delay)
* Patient, reliable and able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
* Confident supporting learning and behaviour within a mainstream classroom
* Previous Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience is desirable
* A genuine passion for helping children succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
