We have a rewarding opportunity available for a Female Children's Community Worker to join our community outreach team based in Bristol. You will join us on a full-time or part-time, Fixed Term Contract basis until 31st March 2026, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) or 22.5 hours per week (Wednesday to Friday), with some out-of-hours and weekend work on occasions. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of Pt12 £27,711 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours) plus benefits.

About The Role
We are looking for a Children's Community Worker to join our dynamic, fast-paced community outreach team, providing play sessions and 1-1 support to children who have experienced domestic abuse. This will include both structured sessions and free play. The role involves working within an integrated team based in Bristol.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Working with children and young people (CYP) aged 0–17 who may have experienced or witnessed domestic violence and abuse, supported in Next Link's Resettlement and Community services.
* Providing high-quality, coordinated emotional and practical support to CYP affected by domestic abuse.
* Offering personal welfare support to CYP and ensuring families in the safe house have a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment, maximizing family safety in the community.
* Coordinating and managing play and educational activities for children, including during weekends and holidays.
* Supporting children to integrate into new or existing communities, including school and nursery placements and registration with healthcare providers.
* Developing individual support plans for each child as needed.
* Supporting women in promoting the mother/child relationship.
* Helping children process their traumatic experiences and begin healing.
* Organizing and supervising children’s activities on and off the premises.
* Reporting child protection concerns promptly, in line with safeguarding policies.
* Maintaining confidentiality of client information.
* Developing group work with children and young people and supporting the delivery of group activities.
* Ensuring the safety and needs of children are met when families move to new homes.
* Building positive, trusting relationships with CYP of all ages, working in a child-focused manner.

What We Are Looking For
* The ability to build rapport quickly with women, children, and young people.
* Constructive working relationships with parents/guardians and their children.
* Experience supporting young people and children under stress and in vulnerable situations.
* Understanding of the needs of women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
* Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding, able to work within relevant guidelines.
* A current, full driving license and access to a car.
