Safeguarding and Wellbeing Practitioner

Reference: REQ001447 | Location: Bristol Campuses – Positions available at WISE campus and Filton Campus | FTE Salary: Up to £31,815.00 (based on qualifications and experience) | Actual Salary: Up to £28,317.02 (based on qualifications and experience) | Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only | Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Term-Time Only Contracts will incur a salary adjustment if the start date is after 1st September.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

* Building Trusting Relationships: You’ll offer 1:1 wellbeing support to learners, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.
* Championing Learner Success: Working closely with tutors, families, and external partners, you’ll help learners stay engaged in college life and reach their goals.
* Safeguarding with Care: As a named Safeguarding Officer, you’ll be a key point of contact for concerns, responding with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Collaborating for Impact: You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure learners receive the right support at the right time.
* Supporting Specific Groups: You’ll provide focused support to students with a Social Worker, Children Looked After, Care Leavers, and Young Adult Carers, helping them navigate college life with confidence.


Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

* Experience of supporting young people (14+) with emotional, social, or mental health needs.
* A trauma-informed approach that values dignity, choice, and empowerment.
* Skills or knowledge in areas like youth work, health, housing, education, or social care.
* Confidence in maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a team.
