An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator within the Clinical Audit Team at Cardiff and Vale UHB. The post holder will work closely with clinical teams to provide comprehensive data management support and training to facilitate clinical audit activity and NICE guidance implementation. They will develop and maintain data reporting systems to improve the collection, analysis, and reporting of all data to inform reviews and national registers within the clinical effectiveness function of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be a point of contact for information requests and queries regarding clinical audits. They will ensure that the clinical data source, collection, entry, and transfer of information are of the highest standard and will be expected to develop the databases, systems, and processes associated with them as the needs of the service change.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop a rigorous clinical audit programme within relevant specialties in collaboration with Clinical Audit leads, relevant committees, and management.
2. Liaise and negotiate with clinical staff at all levels to agree on audit project methodologies, including project design, data collection methods, and analytical support.
3. Support clinical audit activity through the collection, collation, and presentation of data from various sources.
4. Develop databases, collate, and analyze data using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, and support the implementation and administration of the AMaT audit management system.
5. Ensure audit activity meets departmental standards and is of a high standard.
6. Stay informed about clinical audit research, evidence-based healthcare, clinical governance, and guideline development.
7. Communicate relevant local and national information regarding clinical audits and NICE guidance to relevant groups.
8. Retrieve raw data from sources like medical records and information systems for analysis.
9. Assist healthcare professionals in implementing changes resulting from clinical audit activities.
10. Adhere to Information Governance requirements in all audit work.
11. Produce and disseminate reports on clinical audit activities.
12. Participate in data triangulation and analysis to support evidence-based internal inspection programs.
13. Provide oral presentations on Clinical Effectiveness activities as needed.
14. Attend relevant meetings to advise and support on clinical audits.
15. Participate in hospital-wide audit projects and collaborate across teams.
16. Represent the Health Board at meetings related to national clinical audit activity.
17. Manage and prioritize work according to schedules.
