The Role
We're looking for a part-time Project Manager to join our team and take the lead on project coordination and client communication. In this role, you'll help shape and maintain the project backlog, keep delivery on track, and ensure both clients and developers are supported with clear, consistent communication.
You'll be working closely with the tech lead and development team to bring structure to our hybrid Agile/Kanban process. The role involves working with clients and internal stakeholders, and offers a high degree of ownership, with support when you need it.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the bridge between clients and the development team, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and goals
* Gather, clarify, and translate client requirements into a structured backlog using Azure DevOps
* Collaborate with the tech lead to support sprint planning, task management, and delivery timelines
* Facilitate key ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives
* Track progress and highlight any risks or blockers that could affect delivery
* Support the refinement of user stories and tasks where needed (with help from the tech team)
* Help evolve lightweight project management processes that balance structure with flexibility
Skills & Experience
Must-Have:
* Proven experience managing software development projects
* Strong communication and organisation skills
* Experience working directly with clients and developers to manage priorities and expectations
* Familiarity with Agile or Kanban delivery approaches
* Experience using project management tools (we use Azure DevOps, but experience with similar tools is fine)
* Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration
Desirable:
* Experience in SaaS, learning platforms, or similar web applications
* Understanding of technical concepts in a software development context
* Prince2 or similar project management certification (we value experience just as highly)
* Experience writing or refining user stories and technical documentation
Working Arrangement
* Time Commitment: 2 days per week (15 hours)
* Location: Hybrid — we'd like you to be on-site a few days per month
* Flexibility: Hours can be spread across the week as needed, with some overlap with the technical team for stand-ups or planning
* Salary: Up to £55,000 (pro-rata)
