Role Summary
The Chef (CDP level) will work alongside the Head and Sous Chefs in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including food preparation, service, and maintaining best practice in food hygiene and safety. Section management, organisation, and quality control will be central to the role.
Responsibilities
* Cooking and presenting dishes from our menu to a consistently high standard
* Supporting with HACCP documentation, food safety, and hygiene compliance
* Helping to train and guide commis chefs and KPs, sharing skills and knowledge
* Maintaining portion control and managing waste effectively
* Contributing to menu development and new dish creation
* Upholding health & safety procedures throughout all kitchen operations
* Assisting with stock care, equipment use, and safeguarding company assets
* Supporting smooth shift operations including prep, set-up, and close-down
What We’re Looking For
* At least 1 year’s experience as CDP or higher, and 1–3 years in a busy professional kitchen
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
* Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and food hygiene best practices
* A team player with strong communication skills
* Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining high standards
* Flexibility for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
