Lockheed Martin UK SS (LMUK SS) is a lead contractor providing specialist In-Service Support to the Royal Navyâs Submarine Programme. Primarily based at HM Naval Base Clyde Faslane, the company plays a key role in ensuring the operational readiness of the UKâs Vanguard class submarines. LMUK SS is also involved in managing operations at the Royal Naval Armaments Depot Coulport. Lockheed Martin are currently recruiting for Engineering Modern Apprentices to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical projects and be involved in the maintenance, modification and support of the programme. Working as part of a team of engineers who support and maintain the Royal Navyâs submarines and shore facilities, the apprentices undertake a 3-year structured training programme that leads to a certified Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering. LMUK SS offer a competitive package and successful candidates will attend College full time for the first year to attain a HNC or NC in Engineering and SVQ Level 2, and in years 2â3 you will also work towards a SVQ Level 3 in Engineering. \n Applicants must have a minimum of four qualifications equivalent to SCQF level 5 including Maths, English, Physics or Craft and Design. Those who meet the entry requirements will be expected to undertake Aptitude Testing as part of the selection process. Due to MOD requirements, applicants must be a UK sole national and must disclose all current or previous passports/foreign\ncitizenships held. You must be able to travel throughout the UK and occasionally to the US and successful candidates will be required to undergo a security clearance check.
